What is an Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce? - An Ambassador is a volunteering member, wishing to be a representative of the Chamber to assist members with questions and/or concerns about their membership; we act as a liaison between the member and the Chamber itself. We also act as the “good-will” individuals that represent the Chamber and its staff, to present a united front…to help the Chamber continue to grow, thrive and prosper.
When & Where: The Ambassador/Membership Committee meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 11:30, in the Chamber Training Room.
Contact: Gary Spariosu, V.P. of Ambassador/Membership, at: gsapriosu@cfl.rr.com

AMBASSADOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. A visible presence at Chamber events and functions as well as in our community such as:
a. Monthly Luncheons
A) At Monthly Luncheons, have ALL Ambassadors arrive at 11:00 AM PRIOR to the regularly scheduled meeting.
B) Have 1 or 2 Ambassadors as “greeters” at the door when people arrive for lunch. 1 will serve as the official “Greeter” and the other will serve as a “director of traffic” to the appropriate check-in/pay area (Cash/Checks or Debit/Credit Cards).
C) Have 1 or 2 Ambassador(s) behind the check-in table taking Cash & Checks, checking people in, and thus freeing Peggy to be out mingling and introducing new members, along with JT. Lindsay will continue to handle the Debit/Credit Card section of the check-in.
D) Have someone man the Membership Information table with members’ collateral items.
E) Continue having the tables numbered, and ideally having a Board Member/Ambassador or both, seated at each table.
F) Have 1 Ambassador serve as a “runner” to bring any New Members to Peggy or JT for further introduction and also to take care of the “Student of the Month” (if any that particular month), by escorting them to their table in the front and introducing them to Mark Sardo, the VP of Education.
G) Continue having Cory call the Tables by number to approach the Buffet/Food Line, to avoid the “conga” line throughout the room, also giving people more time to network with those at their table.
H) Have 2 Ambassadors at the door as people leave, thanking them for coming. Please be at the front door 5-10 minutes PRIOR to the end of the luncheon.
b. New Member Receptions
A) We request that as many Ambassadors as possible attend all New Member Receptions as a strong showing and representation as the “Welcoming Committee” to the Chamber of Commerce.
B) Meet & Greet, assist with any needs throughout the meeting, and gather all New Members for the Group Photo at the conclusion of the meeting.
c. Business After Hours & Ribbon Cuttings
A) Have as many Ambassadors & Board of Directors as possible attend all of these events in order to bring the New Members around to fellow attendees and “get the Networking Ball rolling” and make all New Members feel welcome, thus avoiding the proverbial CLIQUES that we seem to be rather known to have at this point in time.
B) Don’t leave any new members just standing around. Get their business card and start introducing them around to fellow members, thereby letting you also enjoy the event once you have started them networking.
C) Help gather up other members for the Ribbon Cutting portion/picture.
2. Assist in soliciting new businesses as potential New Chamber Members, as well as retaining current Members. For example, schedule time to do “drive arounds” with Peggy to drop off “New Member” packets as well as dropping by current Members business locations. Also, this is a “good will” program to communicate with current members with the intention of solidifying good member/chamber relationships and retaining these businesses as good Members in Standing.
3. Help “Mentor” New Members by introducing them to what the Chamber has to offer (see list) as well as introducing them to other Chamber Members.
