Corydon "Cory" Skeates was named Executive Director of the Chamber in January of 2007.  Originally from Scottsville, NY, Cory moved to Central Florida in 1997 to attend Barry University School of Law after receiving a B.A. in Political Science, Cum Laude, from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. 

Since his arrival, the Chamber has made significant progress through the establishment of initiatives such as the Trustee and "Partner In Progress" levels of membership, Winter Springs Festival of the Arts, Kidstravaganza and several other targeted business expos, Business Roundtable, participation in the annual Capitol Connection trip to Tallahassee, Chamber Clinic and the relocation of the chamber's corporate offices to class "A" facilities, in partnership with the UCF Incubator, at the heart of the SeminoleWAY project.  

The synergy facilitated by the Chamber's community and civic involvement resulted in the "Twin Cities" of Oviedo~Winter Springs being jointly ranked in the 2008 Orlando Sentinel’s “101 Best of Orlando” as the "Best Place to Live in Central Florida." 

Prior to joining the Chamber, Cory served as a Senior Legislative Assistant to Florida State Representatives Attkisson, Kallinger, Quinones and Adams.  

Cory is married to his wife Shannon and has two daughters, Ella and Amelia.
